urinary and diaphoretic, stimulating stomach and bile juice, strengthening the stomach, aiding digestion

Weakness, lost appetite or body weight, anorexics, roundworms and pinworms (monthly use), parasites, stomach strengthening, to strengthen the digestive organs, chronic bronchial catarrh, for worms, menstrual disorders, hysteria, chilblains, frostbite of the auricle, port wine stains, snake bite, to fall asleep

Collection time:

July to September


To find:

On wasteland and rubble sites, often on slopes.


Ingredients:

Essential oil (cineole), humulene, coumarins, bitter substances, flavonoids, tannins, alkaloid absinthine, abrotanin, caffeic acid derivatives


Other:

☕ Tea: Pour 1/4 liter of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of dried herb. Let it steep briefly. 2 cups a day are enough, 3 are already too much!


Southernwood is a plant of love magic.


In the kitchen, Southernwood can be used sparingly to season sauces. It should also not be missing from any stomach bitters.


If you hang Southernwood in the wardrobe, it will drive away moths and other vermin.


Southernwood is an incense substitute for smoking.


Hildegard von Bingen: Where lumps appear on the body, or where part of a human limb contracts, place crushed Southernwood all around and rub this area with its juice, and it will get better. But if the contraction persists, give it away because it will cause harm.
