They are protected!!! In bushes, on tall herbaceous meadows, in gardens in the Alps, in wet rubble heaps, in rock crevices and on gravel at the edge of springs or streams.

Miscellaneous:

Of the 40 species of saxifrage that exist, only two are used as medicinal herbs, the tuberous saxifrage (Saxifraga granulata) or grain saxifrage is used for bladder stones and the round-leaved saxifrage (Saxifraga rotundifolia) is used as lungwort.
