Hound's tongue (Cynoglossum officinale)

Pyrrolizidine alkaloids, cynoglossin, consolidine, allantoin, mucilage, resin, essential oil


Miscellaneous:

Hound's tongue smells somewhat like a mouse, and this smells more intensely the wetter the soil in which it grows. In the vegetable garden where the Hound's tongue is located, there are no voles.


The fresh, crushed leaves repel pests from pets.


Hound's tongue is a dye plant for yellow and brown tones.
