The corn cockle has not been used for a long time and is no longer common in folk medicine. At that time, an extract was made internally against skin blemishes, pain, acidic stomach, cough but especially against worm infestation. The poisonous seed was also used for jaundice and was praised as a diuretic and menstrual stimulant.
